They’ll let anyone titillate Reagan’s giddy ghost.
Earlier this month, the Santa Clarita City Council proposed a newly redrawn map of the 25th Congressional District to state commissioners. The city thinks this will “enhance [its] ability to collaborate with neighboring communities on regional issues, including transportation planning, homelessness, public safety, emergency preparedness and response, and water quality and supply.”
However, there’s a bit of a Simi Valley-sized problem with their map that appears politically advantageous, eh? If this is the city’s intent to “read the room,” who’s fooled by a “room” outsourced to a neighboring, ideologically sympathetic city and not based on SCV’s current demographic makeup?
The move is so blatantly and nonsensically right-wing… for irony’s sake, it should be called “Pepemandering.”
